Your email log-in information has not changed, it is still the same.

Your email address is still the same. It still ends with "ousd.k12.ca.us".

If you forgot your email address or password: Please contact the Help Desk at (510) 879-8178. If you do not have an OUSD email account and are an OUSD employee, consultant, or volunteer, please complete the OUSD Email Application Form and fax it to Technology Services at (510) 451-1962.

Status of reported issues 12-7-11

Data from old email system: Except for those who lost access to email in late October, everyone should now see their data from the old email system in OUSD Gmail (except for virus infected items and especially large attachments). We are now preparing to restore the data from tape backup for the remaining group i.e. the 300+ users who lost access to email in late October. We are confident we can restore messages, contacts and calendar items up to October 13th. We will be contacting those users separately to determine what data each user needs to be restored.

Please do not continue to use Outlook to send mail. We are keeping the Exchange server operational to enable us to perform network maintenance but we could shut it down any minute. There is no guarantee mail created in Outlook will be delivered.
Google Calendar tips
- Timezone setting: the timezone in the calendar has been set to Pacific Time for many, but not all users. Please check by clicking on calendar, the "gear" in the top right hand corner, calendar settings, general, your current timezone. If it is showing something other than Pacific, please set the timezone to Pacific Time Zone and click save at the bottom of the screen.

Show your availability: The Google calendar works best when colleagues can see when you are available for events. When colleagues click “find a time” when creating an event, they will see your availability, and will be able select a time when every invitee is free. Click on Calendar Click on the “gear” in the top right hand corner Click on “Calendar settings” Click the tab “Calendars” Click the link “Shared: edit settings” for your name Click the box “share this calendar with others” and “share this calendar with everyone in the organization” Click the scroll down menu to “See only free/busy (hide details)” Click save
