The vision of James Madison Middle School is to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment in which all students pursue a comprehensive, academically-oriented core curriculum, irrespective of their primary language or ethnic background. We strive to provide a positive learning environment that acknowledges and addresses the needs of our adolescents in the areas of their intellectual, psychological, emotional, physical, social and ethical needs. We believe that our students will be able to demonstrate competences in listening, speaking, reading, writing and mathematical computation. We believe that it is our schools’ and communities’ responsibility to ensure that each student at Madison is able to reach the competencies in academic skills that are addressed in the California Standards. We aim at teaching all students learning strategies and study skills that will assist them in using critical thinking, effective communication, and goal planning strategies.
