Frequently Asked Questions about the Move of Central Offices

from the Main Administration Building (1025 Second Avenue)

When will central offices return to the Main Administration Building?

We’ve just begun the first phase of a two-stage project to determine the fitness of the building. This initial, assessment phase is expected to last from eight to 10 weeks. Further work is dependent on the outcome of this assessment, but would require additional time. Given this, we are preparing for the following departments, traditionally housed at 1025, to finish the school year in other locations. It is unlikely that central offices will return to the Paul Robeson Administration Building prior to the end of 2012-13.

How will we perform tasks that require personal interaction with various central office departments?

We are redesigning processes, such as those related to contracts, which involve multiple departments in different locations and ask for suggestions on how we can maintain, if not improve service during this time of transition. We are treating this as an opportunity to re-envision service provision in a number of areas.

If we have ideas on how this process could be improved, whom should we contact?

Please contact troy.flint@ousd.k12.ca.us (510.473.5832), mia.settles@ousd.k12.ca.us or perry.chen@ousd.k12.ca.us with suggestions or complaints.
