Our Superintendent

After four years of service, Tony Smith resigned his position as the superintendent of Oakland Public Schools in the Spring of 2013, effective June 30, 2013. Board of Education President David Kakishiba has reaffirmed the Board's commitment to the Full-Service Community School District Strategic Plan, and the Strategic Plan will be influential in the selection of a new superintendent. We will update this section with the most current information on OUSD's superintendent search.
